Imperial Beach, California - The Sheriff's Department will showcase tools to help keep deputies and the public safe in case of an active shooter incident.

Monday, October 1st at 10:00 a.m.  This date will mark one year since the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history happened in Las Vegas, Nevada.  58 people were killed when a man opened fire from a casino hotel window into a crowd at a country music festival.

Detective Kristy Drilling – She rendered first aid to victims of the Las Vegas shooting and helped get them to a hospital.  She also ushered the crowd to avoid getting trampled and found a safe location to seek cover from the hail of bullets.

Corporal Dan Sloppye and Deputy Cleve Willis will talk about the department's use of trauma kits and rescue sleds.
