San Diego, California - The Chargers have claimed former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chas Alecxih, the team announced today.
The 6-3, 304 pounder had signed with the Chiefs in January.
A native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Alecxih originally signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2012 after playing collegiately at the University of Pittsburgh. He spent all but the opening week of the 2012 season on the Dolphins’ practice squad. Alecxih was waived by the Dolphins in May 2013 and remained out of football until signing with the Chiefs this January.
At the University of Pittsburgh, Alecxih played in 41 career games with 26 starts, collecting 127 tackles, 33 tackles for loss and 20 sacks, along with three forced fumbles, an interception and a blocked kick.
