San Diego, California - The San Diego Chargers will make their 2014 debut at Qualcomm Stadium when they host the Dallas Cowboys in the preseason opener for both teams on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 7 p.m.

The Chargers finished the regular season with a 9-7 record in 2013 (third in the AFC West) and reached the AFC Divisional Playoffs after defeating Cincinnati, 27-10, on the road in a Wild Card game. The Cowboys went 8-8 and finished second in the NFC East.

If enough tickets are sold by 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4 to lift the local television blackout, KFMB-TV (Channel 8 in San Diego) and KCBS-TV (Channel 2 in Los Angeles and Orange County) will show the game live with Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Fouts calling the play-by-play and former Chargers linebacker Billy Ray Smith providing the color commentary.
