San Diego, California - The San Diego Chargers signed defensive tackle Ricardo Mathews, the team announced today. To make room for him on the roster, the team waived running back Marion Grice.
Mathews stands 6-3 and weighs 300 pounds. He was a seventh-round pick by Indianapolis in 2010 and played four seasons for the Colts before signing with Houston this offseason. In four seasons in Indianapolis, Mathews recorded 51 tackles, 1.5 sacks and four passes defensed.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Mathews played collegiately at the University of Cincinnati.
Mathews will wear No. 90 for the Chargers.
