San Diego, California - The San Diego State rowing team will travel to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to compete at the Conference USA Championship regatta on Saturday. The event will take place on Melton Hill Lake. The outing will mark the final competition of the season for the Aztecs.
SDSU will enter three boats into competition including the varsity eight, second eight and a varsity four boat. Racing will get underway at 9 am with the varsity eight crews. First and second heats for all races will continue until 10:30 am. Competition will get underway once again at 2:20 with petite and grand finals. Racing is to conclude at 4 pm with an awards presentation at 4:45 pm.
The one-day event will also see participation from league members including Alabama, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Old Dominion, Sacramento State, Tennessee, Texas, Tulsa and West Virginia.
The Aztecs are coming off of a final tune up and final home outing of the season on May 3 against USD. The two San Diego schools assisted each other in preparing for their respective league regattas. Previously, SDSU competed at the WIRA Championship and took home two medals, a silver and bronze.
