San Diego, California - The San Diego Chargers placed inside linebacker Manti Te’o on “Reserve-Injured,” the team announced Wednesday. Te’o tore his Achilles in the first quarter of San Diego’s game in Indianapolis on Sunday. He was the team’s leading tackler with 21 stops on the season.

He’ll be replaced on the active roster by inside linebacker Korey Toomer, who was signed off Oakland’s practice squad. Toomer, 6-2, 235, has spent time during his NFL career with Seattle (2012-14), Dallas (2014), St. Louis (2014-15) and the Raiders (2015-16). He has appeared in 18 career games, primarily on special teams, where’s he’s recorded nine tackles. Toomer appeared in 10 games for the Raiders in 2010.

A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Toomer prepped at Shadow Ridge High School before playing collegiately at Arizona Western College and the University of Idaho.

Toomer will wear No. 56 for the Bolts.
