San Diego, California - The San Diego Chargers placed defensive tackle Caraun Reid on “Reserve-Injured,” the team announced Tuesday. Reid injured his knee in the first quarter of Sunday’s game in Atlanta.
The Chargers claimed Reid off waivers from Detroit in September and he played in each of the team’s first seven games, recording eight tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and eight pressures. On Oct. 25 in Indianapolis, Reid scored a touchdown on a 61-yard fumble return and in the Chargers’ 21-13 win over Denver on Oct. 13, he helped earn the Bolts two more points when he drew a holding penalty in the end zone, resulting in a safety.
Cornerback Pierre Desir, who was waived on Saturday when the Chargers signed Christopher Landrum to the active roster, has cleared waivers and was re-signed to the active roster to replace Reid.
