San Diego, California - The San Diego Chargers signed linebacker Carlos Fields off of their practice squad and placed cornerback Craig Mager on Reserve-Injured, the team announced Saturday.

Mager played in 11 games this season with eight starts before suffering a shoulder injury in the Chargers’ Dec. 11 game at Carolina. He finishes the year with 29 tackles, an interception and four passes defensed.

Fields, 6-1, 248 pounds, has spent the last five weeks on the Chargers’ practice squad. Fields first signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2014 as an undrafted rookie free agent from Winston-Salem State. After Oakland, he spent time with Tampa Bay, the New York Giants, Indianapolis, Washington and Buffalo. He appeared in five regular season games and one postseason game for Washington in 2015.

Fields wears No. 59.
