San Diego, California - The San Diego State baseball team saw its three-game winning streak to start the 2018 season come to end, suffering a 10-inning, 3-2 defeat against San Diego at Tony Gwynn Stadium on Tuesday night.

Jordan Verdon recorded a fourth-inning RBI single to tie the game at 1-1 and led the Aztecs offensively with a 2-for-4 night. 

With the Aztecs down to their final strike in the bottom of the ninth, Grant Mayeaux recorded a RBI single to center to score Matt Rudick from second base and tie the game at 2-2, forcing the game into extra innings.

USD responded in the top of the 10th with a Dante Gutierrez RBI double to bring the score to its final 3-2.
