San Ramon, California - University of California San Diego senior sprinter Paul Doan was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Track Athlete of the Week, as the conference announced Tuesday.

Doan, who earns this honor for the third time in his career, swept the sprints and anchored the fastest 4x100-meter relay in each of UC San Diego's first two meets of the 2018 season.

At the Pomona-Pitzer Collegiate All Comers Meet in Claremont on Feb. 17, he won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.52, just getting under his own school record time from a year ago of 10.53, and then won the 200-meter dash with a 21.54 time. His time in the 100 marked his first NCAA provisional qualifier already of 2018. Doan also anchored the first-place 4x100 relay with a 41.29 time to make it three wins in three races that day.

On February 24 at Cal State San Marcos' Mangrum Invitational, Doan led his Tritons to a comfortable victory over the host Cougars, 111-67. He timed 10.82 in the 100, 22.00 in the 200 and 41.31 in anchoring the 4x100 relay, all wins.

UC San Diego will be back in action at the All-UC Challenge in Santa Barbara next Saturday, March 3. The meet at Westmont College against UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine begins at 12 p.m.
