Rooftop Cinema Club sizzles during mid-Summer

San Diego, California - With Summer in full swing and tourists flocking to San Diego from all points around the globe, Rooftop Cinema Club San Diego at the Manchester Grand Hyatt plans to roll out the red carpet for moviegoers with a fantastic July lineup. Along the way, San Diego’s premier outdoor cinema destination will celebrate Summer, Women in Film, a special interactive screening of WISH MAN, and several cult classics marking notable anniversaries on the large screen.

Rooftop Cinema Club will open its doors for a pair of very special events this month. On July 11th, Rooftop Cinema Club will screen WISH MAN, the incredible and heart-wrenching story of Frank Shankwitz, the man responsible for establishing the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Members of the cast and crew will be in attendance and participate in an interactive Q&A with guests.  On July 16th, Rooftop Cinema Club will feature a TOP GUN theme night as part of our Summer Celebration. Guests in attendance will not only get to enjoy Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer and Kelly McGillis on the big screen, but they’ll also be treated to a fun night of special treats to satisfy their “need for speed.”

Rooftop Cinema Club’s July lineup features a number of top draws throughout the month that will celebrate Summer Fun, Women in Film and notable anniversaries. Special dates on the ledger include Sofia Coppola’s LOST IN TRANSLATION (Women in Film) on Tuesday, July 2; NAPOLEON DYNAMITE (15th Anniversary) on Wednesday, July 3; Lindsay Lohan’s MEAN GIRLS (Women in Film) on Sunday, July 7; John Travolta in PULP FICTION (25th Anniversary) on Friday, July 12; Jennifer Lopez as Selena Quintanilla-Perez in SELENA (Women in Film) on Sunday, July 28, and Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles in 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU (20th Anniversary) on Monday, July 29.

Not to be missed either are Rooftop Cinema Club’s popular sing-along nights, scheduled for Monday, July 15 with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in GREASE, and Wednesday, July 24 with Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum in THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. And a couple of real summertime thrillers will help close out the month with JAWS on Saturday, July 27, and a trip down Tornado Alley with TWISTER on Wednesday, July 31.

Rooftop Cinema Club opens nightly at 6:30 p.m. and films begin at 8:30, offering guests ample time to arrive early and enjoy the social in “Social Cinema,” including amazing sunsets, fantastic food, top-shelf drinks and classic table games.

Rooftop Cinema Club is open to adults 18-and-over. Ticket prices start at just $17 per person for a single deck-chair beneath the stars. For $20, you can receive a single deck-chair along with bottomless popcorn, and for just $24 each, a couple can enjoy a film in the comfort of a double love-seat while also enjoying bottomless popcorn.
