San Diego, California - The Board of Directors for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce voted today to endorse four candidates running for local office in San Diego County municipalities. They are:

“What we’re looking for in the candidates we endorse are an openness and willingness to collaborate, and some experience and understanding of business and the issues San Diego businesses face,” said Jerry Sanders, President and CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber.

“We were impressed by each of these candidates. They have unique stories and perspectives, but a shared interest in driving this region forward, and working together,” Sanders said.

Board Chairman Ernesto Arredondo said the candidates were new or relatively new to public service – and that was a benefit.

“These candidates are bringing a fresh approach, and if elected those new ideas and enthusiasm are going to serve their constituents and the overall business community well,” Arredondo said.

Each candidate was interviewed by the Board’s Endorsements Committee. The Committee then recommended the endorsements to the Board. The Board voted in support of the endorsements at its regular monthly meeting today. This is the fifth round of endorsements the Chamber has made in the 2016 elections.
