Carlsbad, California - Business owners who would like to grow their business by working with the government are invited to attend the Small Business Seminar in Carlsbad on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. California State Board of Equalization (BOE) Vice Chair Michelle Steel, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and the City of Carlsbad are sponsoring this event.
Vice Chair Steel is reaching out to tax and feepayers affected by the devastating wildfires in San Diego County at the Carlsbad seminar.
"If you lost your home, property, or tax records in this wildfire, we are here to help," said Vice Chair Michelle Steel. "Come see us at the Carlsbad seminar, visit us online or call us for help with requesting extensions, copies of your records, or relief from interest and penalties."
"The city of Carlsbad is very appreciative of the state's quick action to help support our local residents and businesses during this difficult time," said Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall.
In addition to attending the Carlsbad seminar, tax and feepayers impacted by wildfires can go online to request relief from penalty and/or interest, and an extension of time to file a tax/fee return. Those looking for assistance will benefit from presentations given by representatives from BOE, Department of Insurance, Office of Emergency Services, Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Small Business Development Center.
