Secretary Ross joins California almond growers to discuss sustainability goals

Sacramento, California - CDFA secretary Karen Ross joined the Almond Board of California this week at a meeting to introduce and discuss the board’s sustainability goals for 2025.

The goals are:

  1. Further reduce the water used to grow almonds.
  2. Increase adoption of environmentally friendly pest management tools.
  3. Achieve zero waste in orchards.
  4. Improve local air quality during almond harvest.

Secretary Ross participated in a video about these goals.
