San Diego, California - The San Diego Sockers today announced the acquisition of goalkeeper Jesus Molina from the Las Vegas Legends in exchange for cash considerations.
“Jesus is a veteran keeper who brings a wealth of big game experience to our club,” said general manager John Kentera, “We’ve been looking for an experienced backup to Chris Toth and Jesus fits the bill perfectly. Now we have two quality keepers for any situation.”
Molina, 37, was a starter in all six seasons of the Professional Arena Soccer League with Stockton, Anaheim and Las Vegas. Last season Molina went 4-2 in seven starts for the Legends with a 7.39 goals against average. In two years with the Legends Molina posted a 10-3 record in fourteen starts. His best season came with the 2008-09 Stockton Cougars, when Molina backstopped Stockton to the inaugural PASL championship, leading the league in wins (11) and saves (278).
