San Diego, California - The San Diego State women’s lacrosse team will host its third annual Aztec Warrior Challenge for players in grades 9-12 on Saturday, October 18, at Aztec Lacrosse Field beginning at 9 a.m. PT.

The event features a stickwork clinic and a five-on-five tournament, as teams will compete for the ultimate prize of being crowned the Weekend Warrior Champions. Each squad will be comprised of 5-10 players and must have a goalie to participate.

Registration is $50 per player, and all participants must register online here. Those interested in competing but do not have a team can be signed up as an individual and placed on a “house” team.

Games will be played on one side of the lacrosse field similar to half-court basketball, and will be seven minutes long with running clocks. Each team is guaranteed to play 10 games with a 15 minute lunch break after the fifth.

San Diego State earned its first-ever postseason berth in 2014 and set several new program records, including most conference victories (4), most road victories (4) and most conference player of the week honors (6). The Aztecs recently announced its 2014 recruiting class, which features four All-Americans, four all-State selections and three transfers from other Division I programs.
