San Diego, California - Her name is Maisie, but you can call her Dizzy Dazy Maisy because she’s been in and out of the shelter so many times.
This beautiful red and black, spayed, chow-chow/shepherd blend is only 3½ years old and she’s already stayed at the shelter four times! Her story could rival that of any soap opera.
She first came in as a lost dog and when no one claimed her, she was adopted. Eight months later she was back because the other dog in the household was too old to play with Maisie. She was adopted again but returned to the shelter after being shot by a neighbor while she was running loose. (Truly!) Her owner came and took her home, but now sadly the owner has passed away.
Maisie is at the shelter again and looking for another forever home. She has a laid-back personality, is well behaved and knows several commands. She loves to play ball but prefers older, respectful kids who won't step on her or scare her with loud noises.
If you’d like to meet her, you’ll find her at County Animal Services at 5480 Gaines St. in San Diego. Her animal identification number is A1359875. The adoption fee is $69 and includes a microchip, vaccinations and a free veterinary examination. For more information, call (619) 767-2675 or visit sddac.com.
