San Diego, California - The San Diego State men’s soccer team will host the Alumni Family and Friend’s Weekend as well as three nationally ranked teams in the Courtyard Marriott San Diego Central Aztec Soccer Tournament September 5-7, beginning with Friday night’s match between the Aztecs and 25th ranked Clemson at 7 p.m. PT at SDSU Sports Deck.

Friday’s match will be Youth Soccer Night, with a free sunglasses giveaway for the first 1,500 fans in attendance as the Aztecs “Light the Night” at Montezuma Road. Fans are encouraged to attend and “Stack the Deck” against the Tigers in an attempt to break the all-time attendance record at SDSU Sports Deck of 2,212.

SDSU’s annual alumni game will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Sports Deck, as the 2014 team will take on Aztec greats of the past. The eventful weekend wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 7, as San Diego State plays host to No. 19 Denver on Championship Sunday starting at 1 p.m. PT, followed by a matchup between No. 17 UC Irvine and No. 25 Clemson at 4 p.m. PT.

The Aztecs (1-1) are coming off a victory over Buffalo, 1-0, at home on Sunday, as sophomore forward Forrayah Bass (Leeds, England) knocked in his first goal of the season in the 74th minute to give SDSU the lead for good. Bass recorded a team-high four shots, three on target, and leads the team in both categories after two matches this season.

San Diego State has the nation’s 37th-ranked recruiting class and has eight returning letterwinners for the 2014 campaign. Beginning on Friday, Aztec men’s soccer will play 11 contests against teams which made the 2013 NCAA Tournament, and takes on a total of eight teams that appear in the NSCAA top 25 or are receiving votes.
