San Diego, California - With a 13-game Mountain West win streak in hand, San Diego State football will honor the 2016 Aztec Hall of Fame inductees at halftime and hold a beer festival prior to its game against conference foe San José State on Friday, October 21, at 7:30 p.m.
The 2016 Hall of Fame class includes former men’s basketball star and current member of the San Antonio Spurs Kawhi Leonard, football players Leon Parma and Noel Prefontaine, as well as track and field athletes Miesha McKelvy-Jones and Steve Williams. The five Aztecs will first be honored at the Payne Parma Goodall Alumni Center on Friday at noon during the official induction ceremony, and will be recognized on the field during halftime of the Aztecs’ matchup against the Spartans. Prior to the game, there will be a beer festival from 5 - 7 p.m. in Aztec Village (parking lot C1/D1) for all fans ages 21 and up. The breweries featured at the beer fest will include Alpine, Aztec Brewing, Green Flash, Hess, Karl Strauss, KNB Wine Cellars, Stone and many more. Admission to the beer fest is $10 and includes a San Diego State souvenir 4 oz. cup and five taster tokens. San Diego State is looking for its 14th-straight conference win against SJSU this Friday following a road win against Fresno State on Fri., Oct. 14. Off to its best start since 1977 at 5-1, the Aztecs have been ranked as high as No. 19 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll this season, their highest ranking since finishing the 1977 campaign at No. 16.
