San Diego, California - It’s time to “Rock the Rooftop!” Premiering on April 12, the UK-based Rooftop Cinema Club (RCC) will make its latest foray into the United States with the grand opening of San Diego’s very own outdoor cinema, to be located atop the iconic Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. With its stunning views of the city from every angle imaginable, Rooftop Cinema Club is revolutionizing the movie-going experience in its unique and one-of-a-kind setting underneath and among the stars. The party will start on Thursday, April 12 with a sunset screening of the 1959 award-winning classic Some Like It Hot, starring the unforgettable Marilyn Monroe, and filmed almost entirely on-site in Coronado. Doors will open for Some Like It Hot at 6:30 p.m. and the movie will begin after sunset at 7:30 p.m.

The grand opening weekend of the Rooftop Cinema Club will continue on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 with two additional cult classics that are both hallmarks of San Diego. On Friday the 13th, Goose and Maverick will hit the big screen when Top Gun makes its RCC debut in San Diego. Starring Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise, Top Gun takes viewers inside the cockpit and into the dogfight in the United States Navy’s Fighter Weapons School, which formerly made its home at San Diego’s very own Miramar Naval Air Station. Then to close out the RCC’s opening weekend on Saturday the 14th, “The Legend of Ron Burgundy” will return to the city where he made his name as a 1970s television news star as Anchorman, starring Will Ferrell, hits the screen high atop the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.

San Diego’s Rooftop Cinema Club is open to adults 18-and-over. Ticket prices start at just $17 per person for a single deck-chair underneath the moon and the stars. For $20, you can receive a single deck-chair along with bottomless popcorn, and for just $24 apiece, a couple can enjoy their movie in the comfort of a double love-seat also with bottomless popcorn.

For all remaining shows, doors will open at 6:30 p.m. PT and the movies will begin from 7:30 p.m. on.
