San Diego, California - In preparation for the 2014-15 Major Arena Soccer League season, the San Diego Sockers have announced a preseason doubleheader at the Valley View Casino Center that will highlight some of the top indoor players in the country and beyond. A 6pm preseason tilt between the Sockers and the Toros de Mexico will be followed at 8pm by the first look at the U.S. and Mexican National Indoor Teams, who will scrimmage in a preview of the Indoor World Cup in early 2015.

Both games are available for one $12.50 ticket, which is on sale now through the Sockers ticket office at (866) 799-GOAL and online at As always, parking for all Sockers games at the Valley View Casino Center is free.

“This will be a great night for indoor soccer,” said Sockers head coach Phil Salvagio, who was named last year as the head coach of the U.S. national team, “The Sockers are hungry to get back out on the field, and the Toros are always a tough team. They will help show us where we are as we get ready for Las Vegas and the season opener on November 1st.”

While the 6pm Sockers-Toros contest will give San Diego fans a chance to put their eyes on the hometown side for the first time since late February, the night’s second game may be even more highly anticipated. With the Indoor World Cup slated to begin in the spring of 2015, the U.S. National Team will gather for the first time in San Diego to take on Mexico in an international friendly at 8pm.

“We are calling on the top players from around the country to join the U.S. side. The competition will be extremely tough just to make this team,” said Salvagio, “Mexico has a lot of talent and will be one of the primary competitors for the World Cup. This is where we will be able to make some key evaluations before we announce the final roster.”

Tickets for the preseason double-header are $12.50 for all seats, which will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Call Sockers tickets manager Christine Morey at (866) 799-GOAL to get your tickets today, or order online at
