San Diego, California - Don't press your luck this St. Patrick's Day by drinking and getting behind the wheel. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department will be out in full force looking for drunk drivers. Watch for increased DUI patrols by Sheriff's Deputies across the county beginning on Monday, March 17th at 7:00 p.m. and lasting through 3:00 a.m. the following day.

There will also be two DUI checkpoints during St. Patrick's Day Weekend in the following cities:

  • Friday, March 14th - Vista
  • Sunday, March 16th - Imperial Beach

For many, St. Patrick's Day has become synonymous with drinking. That has made the holiday extremely dangerous because of drunk drivers out on the road.
