Pasadena, California - This year, Caltech students have more options for arts-oriented classes to choose from with topics ranging from Victorian media to volcanic disasters to map making and more. The courses are part of the new Caltech-Huntington Program in Visual Culture, established last year with a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Designed to expand Caltech students' exposure to different forms of artistic media, the program also includes guest lectures, field trips, and artists-in-residence.
USDA Forest Service Seeks Public Comment on Draft Environmental Impact Statement, Alternatives to a Proposed Alaska Roadless Rule
Juneau, Alaska – The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking public comment on a draft environmental impact statement offering a range of alternatives to roadless management and a proposed Alaska Roadless Rule. If adopted, the proposed rule would exempt the Tongass National Forest from the 2001 Roadless Rule.
Man Pleads Guilty to Multi-Million Dollar Counterfeit Cellphone Scheme
Boise, Idaho - Artur Pupko, 28, of Boise, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to trafficking in counterfeit goods, U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis and Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division announced Thursday. Sentencing for Pupko has been set for December 17, 2019 before U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill at the federal courthouse in Boise.
Inmate Sentenced to 20 Years for Distributing Drugs and Cell Phones in State Prison by Bribing an Officer
San Diego, California - Martin Gomez of California was sentenced in federal court today to 240 months in prison for leading a conspiracy to smuggle methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, and cell phones through a Corrections Officer into a state prison.
