San Diego, California - San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan announced Wednesday that Leona Parsons, 49, was sentenced to three years and eight months in state prison for stealing $300,000 from four elderly victims who were longtime customers at Chase Bank in Imperial Beach. Parsons, who was convicted of six counts of theft from an elder, forgery and identity theft, methodically siphoned cash from victim bank accounts by inflating withdrawal slips when victims would visit the bank to conduct business.

Honolulu, Hawaii - The San Diego State volleyball team (1-8) fell in four sets to Hawai'i (4-3) on its final day at the Outriggers Volleyball Challenge hosted in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ashlynn Dunbar led all players in the match with 16 kills, while defensively Deja Harris posted a match-best seven blocks in addition to her 10 kills.

San Diego, California - The Aztec men’s soccer team (2-2-1) had a thrilling come from behind 2-1 victory in extra time over UC Irvine (3-2-1) Sunday evening to win the Courtyard Marriott San Diego Central Aztec Soccer Classic. SDSU gave up a goal in the fourth minute then scored in the 85th and 92nd minute to complete the comeback.
