San Diego, California - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the San Ysidro port of entry intercepted two men with unrelated warrants in two days.

On Nov. 28, at about 2:30 p.m., Antonio Gonzalez, a 43-year-old Mexican citizen and Lawful Permanent Resident, applied for entry at the San Ysidro PedWest facility.  CBP Officers queried law enforcement databases and matched the man to a warrant.  CBP officers referred him to secondary for further processing.

CBP officers confirmed that Antonio Gonzalez had an active warrant for sexual assault from the Madera County Sheriff’s Department with a bail set at $1.2 million.

The next morning, at about 1 a.m., Paul Pray, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen, applied for entry through a trusted traveler vehicle lane. CBP Officers queried law enforcement databases and matched the man to a warrant.  CBP officers referred him to secondary for further processing.

CBP officers confirmed that Paul Pray had an active warrant for assault from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department with a bail set at $100,000. 

CBP officers transported both to the San Diego County Jail to await criminal proceedings.

Criminal charges are merely allegations.  Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
