San Diego, California - The San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl announced Monday that County of San Diego Supervisor, Ron Roberts, will serve as the Honorary Chairman for the 2018 game. Roberts has been the Fourth District Supervisor since 1994.

“I’m flattered to be the Honorary Chairman of the 2018 SDCCU Holiday Bowl,” said Roberts. “Over the years this game has always been one of the best during bowl season and I’m sure this year will be fantastic. I can’t wait to be part of the many bowl activities.”

“Ron has been an amazing supporter of the Holiday Bowl for many, many years,” said SDCCU Holiday Bowl Executive Director Mark Neville. “Ron has seen the importance of the Holiday Bowl in our community and how it’s been a major factor in bringing huge tourism dollars to our marketplace.”

Roberts will be part of various festivities surrounding the SDCCU Holiday Bowl including leading the way as Grand Marshal of the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade. This year’s 41st annual game will be played Monday, Dec. 31 at 4 p.m. and will be televised nationally on FS1. The SDCCU Holiday Bowl matches top football teams from the Pac-12 and Big Ten conferences.

Since his election to the Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Roberts has focused his energy on a wide variety of issues, from improving the plight of foster youth, assisting vulnerable seniors and enhancing public safety, to supporting growing the regional economy and making sure that the County of San Diego remains one of the best-managed counties in America.
