San Diego, California - Carlos Adolfo Soto was sentenced in federal court Tuesday to 140 months prison in connection with the robberies of 11 San Diego area businesses in January and February 2017. U.S. District Judge Thomas J. Whelan also ordered Soto to pay restitution to the victims.
Chief Executive of Communications Company Sentenced to Prison for Providing Encryption Services and Devices to Criminal Organizations
San Diego, California - Vincent Ramos, the chief executive of Canada-based Phantom Secure, was sentenced to nine years in prison for leading a criminal enterprise that facilitated the transnational importation and distribution of narcotics through the sale of encrypted communication devices and services. The Court also ordered Ramos to forfeit $80 million as proceeds of the crime, as well as specifically identified assets, including international bank accounts, real estate, cryptocurrency accounts, and gold coins.
