San Diego, California - Already one of San Diego’s top attractions and the most sought-after movie ticket in town, ROOFTOP CINEMA CLUB EMBARCADERO AT THE MANCHESTER GRAND HYATT SAN DIEGO has released its latest lineup of films with tickets available for purchase through July 3.

Rooftop Cinema Club has upped the ante by adding late-night screenings to its lineup every Friday and Saturday night, starting May 7, and “Teen Tuesday” screenings twice a month, starting June 1, where moviegoers aged 13-and-up are invited to enjoy their favorite coming-of-age films al fresco. June 1 also commemorates the 10th anniversary of Rooftop Cinema Club’s first-ever screening, and the June program celebrates the occasion with a series of movies that also turn 10 this year, plus a weekend of films nodding to their founder’s journey.

Tickets for all films through July 3 are currently on sale at www.rooftopcinemaclub.com/embarcadero. Due to ongoing COVID guidelines, Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero remains open as a ‘limited capacity’ venue with screenings selling out fast. Guests are advised to purchase tickets early.

A far more detailed look at the special events that await guests at Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero this June is below.

“Teen Tuesdays” featuring Mean Girls (Tuesday, June 1) and She's The Man (Tuesday, June 29)

Rooftop Cinema Club isn’t like a regular Rooftop, they’re a cool Rooftop. They’re opening up their usually 18+ venue to teen moviegoers 13+ twice a month so we can all enjoy our favorite coming-of-age flicks together – even if you’re just a teenager at heart. And because those teen years can be a little gnarly, they’re offering free candy to any teen who shows a valid junior high or high school ID at concessions. As always, they suggest checking out the film’s rating before making plans as ratings will vary.

Celebrate Black filmmakers on Juneteenth with Love Jones and Candyman (Friday, June 19)

This Juneteenth, Rooftop Cinema Club is showcasing Black filmmakers and actors with screenings of writer/director Theodore Witcher's Love Jones (8:30 p.m.) and Candyman (11:15 p.m.) starring Tony Todd in the film's complex and iconic titular role. A separate admission is required for each film.

Commemorate Rooftop Cinema Club’s 10-year anniversary with “Ten Year Time Machine” films every Wednesday night –
Crazy, Stupid, Love. (Wednesday, June 2), Bridesmaids (Wednesday, June 9), Fast Five (Wednesday, June 16), Horrible Bosses (Wednesday, June 23) and Drive (Wednesday, June 30)

This year, Rooftop Cinema Club turns 10 years old, and to celebrate they're screening their favorite films that are also hitting the decade milestone! They’re showcasing the acting chops of Ryan Gosling with screenings of Crazy, Stupid, Love and Drive, why Kristen Wiig became a household name with Bridesmaids, how The Rock changed the Fast and Furious franchise in Fast Five, and how three television stars came together to make a hilarious comedy in Horrible Bosses.

For one weekend in June, San Diego’s ultimate outdoor cinema goes from “Big Top to Rooftop” featuring The Greatest Showman (Friday, June 4 – 8:30 p.m.), Ghostbusters (Friday, June 4 – 11:15 p.m.), Moulin Rouge! (Saturday, June 5 – 8:30 p.m.), 500 Days of Summer (Saturday, June 5 – 11:30 p.m.) and Ratatouille (Sunday, June 6 – 8:30 p.m.)

Since Rooftop Cinema Club is turning 10 this year, it only feels right for them to do some reflecting. They've decided to mirror their founder's journey from growing up around the circus to creating unforgettable Rooftop experiences by sharing their      favorite films with unforgettable circus and rooftop scenes! They'll start with the P.T. Barnum musical The Greatest Showman and move to the iconic rooftop moments of very different kinds in Ghostbusters, Moulin Rouge!, 500 Days of Summer and Ratatouille! Separate admission is required for Friday and Saturday night showings.

It’s a Full-Moon and Pride-Filled Themed-Night featuring To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar! (Thursday, June 24)

Rooftop Cinema Club’s June themed night celebrates LGBTQ Pride Month and lands under a full moon! "I want you to believe in yourself, imagine good things, and moisturize." Put on your favorite red dress and big hat and join them for a very special screening of the drag queen cult classic – To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar! In addition to the movie, they'll have contests, giveaways and more!

Family-Friendly Screenings light up the big screen every Sunday night in June –
Ratatouille (Sunday, June 6), Up (Sunday, June 13), A Goofy Movie (Sunday, June 20) and Coco (Sunday, June 27)

Every Sunday Rooftop Cinema Club is opening up their usually 18+ Rooftop venue to younger moviegoers, so the whole family can enjoy a movie night under the stars. Be sure to select the "Kids" ticket for anyone 12-and-under, and as always, we suggest checking out the film’s rating before making plans as ratings will vary. PLEASE NOTE: RCC’s headphones are one size, so they recommend bringing children ages 5 and up to ensure they're able to tune into the film.

“Wooftop Cinema Club” returns with a Family- and Pet-Friendly screening of Up (Sunday, June 13)

"SQUIRREL!" Wooftop screenings continue with the animated hit, Up. This special event is pet-friendly and family-friendly, so you can bring your "Dugs" to the screening. PLEASE NOTE: You are responsible for cleaning up after your dog, and all dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. A special relief area will be provided at the venue.

Celebrate 4th of July Weekend Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero-style featuring Independence Day (Thursday, July 1), The Notebook (Friday, July 2 – 8:30 p.m.), Girls Trip (Friday, July 2 – 11:00 p.m.) The Sandlot (Saturday, July 3 – 8:30 p.m.) and Wet Hot American Summer (Saturday, July 3 – 11:30 p.m.)

Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero is located at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, 1 Market Place, San Diego (92101) on the open-air 4th Floor Sport Terrace of the Harbor Tower with stunning skyline views. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and films start at 8:30 p.m. Opening early allows guests plenty of time to select their first-come-first-serve seats and enjoy the “Social Cinema” aspect of Rooftop Cinema Club, which includes amazing sunsets, classic table games, and fantastic food and drink. And once the films begin, moviegoers will find themselves immersed in their favorite movie moments through high-fidelity personal headphones and a crystal-clear picture on our famous big screen. Rooftop Cinema Club is open to adults 18-and-over, however, every Sunday features family-friendly screenings that allow the whole family to enjoy a fun film under the stars, and twice a month moviegoers aged 13+ are welcome to their “Teen Tuesday” screenings.

Adhering to COVID protocols, Rooftop Cinema Club tickets are sold exclusively online. Walk-up ticket sales are not available. For 18-and-over moviegoers and 13-and-over moviegoers on “Teen Tuesday”, tickets start at $17.50 (Sun-Thurs) and $18.50 (Fri & Sat) for a single adjustable lounge seat. For $20.50 (Sun-Thurs) and $21.50 (Fri & Sat), guests 18-and-over can purchase a single lounge seat that comes with a 46 oz. bucket of Rooftop Cinema Club’s famous fresh-popped popcorn. And for couples, Rooftop Cinema Club offers a special double-sized love-seat that also comes with a 46 oz. bucket of popcorn for each guest, and those tickets are $24 (Sun-Thurs) and $25 apiece (Fri & Sat) and must be booked in pairs. Rooftop Cinema Club also offers a 15% military discount and a 10% student discount for guests 18-and-over (valid ID required at check-in). And for family-friendly screenings, tickets are $13.50 for a “Kids” lounge seat (ages 12-and-under). Booking fees apply. Tickets and information for all shows are available on the official Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero website: www.rooftopcinemaclub.com/embarcadero. And again, as a reminder, Rooftop Cinema Club is a ‘limited capacity’ venue and tickets have been selling out fast.

One of the signature elements of Rooftop Cinema Club is the unique food and beverage menu, presented by the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. It features specialty plates and drinks, including a variety of signature cocktails and several craft beer and wine options. Rooftop Cinema Club also offers a robust concession stand with fresh popcorn and a large selection of candy and soda. Concessions are available via contactless order and pick-up to make movie-snacking safe and convenient.

In response to COVID, and with safety as its number one priority, Rooftop Cinema Club has adapted its operations. In addition to operating at a limited capacity with socially distanced seating, online ticketing and contact-free concessions, Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero is completely cashless, so guests should come prepared with a debit or credit card. Sanitization stations are available throughout the venue, and team members will wear masks, routinely change gloves and regularly wipe down surfaces. Headphones are also sanitized after each use and individually wrapped for each guest. For the time being, Rooftop Cinema Club is not offering its traditional pillows and blankets, but guests are encouraged to bring their own. And due to health guidelines, Rooftop Cinema Club is not able to offer bottomless popcorn, but it has increased the size of its popcorn cups from 32 oz. to 46 oz. Team members will enforce safety rules for guests, including masks being required anytime guests are not actively eating or drinking, and ensuring social distancing between parties.

There are numerous transportation options to reach Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero, including taxis, ride-shares and the San Diego Trolley. Self-parking is available for guests who elect to drive. The Manchester Grand Hyatt’s parking garage is offering $11 self-parking (up to 4 hours, based on availability) with validation from the box office.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt is offering a 30% room discount for guests who would like to stay at the hotel following a night at Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero. The discount code is available on the cinema email ticket confirmations for online bookings. This offer cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions.

Rooftop Cinema Club is now taking bookings for corporate parties, private events and special occasions, complete with pre-movie reception options and full, private use of the outdoor cinema. To learn more or to book a unique and COVID-safe event, visit https://rooftopcinemaclub.com/partnerships/.
