San Diego County Medical Examiner Offers Resources for Camp Fire Recovery
San Diego, California - The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has offered to support recovery efforts in Butte County by sending personnel and its specially designed mobile morgue truck and trailers. Butte County has not requested the assistance yet, but it will remain available as officials continue their search for victims.

Sacramento, California - The California Department of Justice (CA DOJ) Wednesday approved the Ministry Alignment Agreement between Dignity Health and Colorado-based Catholic Healthcare Initiatives to join the two systems in California. The review of this transaction included 17 public meetings across the state and over 500 written comments from the public including: various community-based organizations, business associations, governmental entities, locally-elected officials, and religious entities.

Washington, DC - In April of this year, the FDA released its Medical Device Safety Action Plan: Protecting Patients, Promoting Public Health, which described recent actions we’ve taken to enhance device safety and outlined our vision for how the agency can build on these initiatives to further assure the safety and effectiveness of medical devices. We continue to modernize our approach to device safety. After carefully considering public feedback, we’ll be announcing in a series of updates several important new actions that will help the FDA continue to enhance our nationwide post-market surveillance system; address new safety concerns that emerge once a device is on the market; and encourage innovations that lead to safer medical devices.
