Man Sentenced to 15 Months in Federal Prison for Hate Crime Targeting Catholic Church
Eugene, Oregon - Benjamin Jaramillo Hernandez, 70, of Eugene, was sentenced Wednesday to 15 months in federal prison and three years’ supervised release for committing a hate crime targeting St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene in September 2018 and illegally possessing ammunition. The announcement was made by Assistant Attorney General Eric Dreiband of Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division and U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams of the District of Oregon.
